Yue Pheng Chang

After 15 years in the Navy, Yue walked away from stability to pursue what truly mattered—freedom, presence, and purpose. His journey into real estate began with a rookie mistake: accidentally becoming a landlord after botching his first property purchase. But even then, the numbers worked. That messy win sparked a realization—real estate could be the path to lasting wealth and time freedom.

Today, as a father and co-founder of Chang & Chica Capital, Yue is building generational wealth through mobile home parks and RV communities. His goal now is to educate others—especially fellow veterans—through the lessons he learned the hard way, and help them achieve financial freedom through real estate investing. He believes that with the right support and mindset, anyone can own assets, raise capital, and rewrite their legacy.

Question 1: What is a multifamily syndication, and how does it work?

A multifamily syndication is when a group of people pool their money together to buy a large apartment complex. At Chang & Chica Capital, we act as the operators—we find the deal, manage the property, and handle the business plan. You invest passively, meaning you don’t deal with tenants or repairs—we take care of the work, and you share in the profits.

Question 2: Do I need experience to invest?

Nope! Most of our investors are brand new to real estate. You don’t need to know all the lingo—we walk you through everything and make it easy to understand.

Question 3: How do I get paid and what other benefits come with passive investing?

You typically receive quarterly cash flow distributions from the rental income, plus a lump sum payout when the property is sold (usually after 3–7 years). Your returns come from both the income the property generates and the increase in value over time.

But passive investing isn’t just about the money hitting your account.

You also get access to tax advantages such as depreciation and cost segregation which can reduce your taxable income (even if you’re earning cash flow). Many investors are surprised at how real estate helps lower their overall tax burden.
